Tennis Coach

The Job of the Tennis Coach is to develop a fun and healthy tennis program, train youths considered overweight or obese to use the sport of tennis to improve one's weight.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coach children from age groups 6 to 9 yrs., 10 to 14 yrs.  and 15 to 19 yrs
  • Supervise an assistant coach
  • Understand and promote  OPCCY's mission, vision and objectives to families
  • Promote self-esteem and discipline amongst players
  • Educate youths about the importance and relationship of exercise and health
  • Develop budget
  • Involve and maintain good relationships with parents
  • Monitor and report players' progress and development to the Sport Coordinator

Qualifications

  • One year Tennis Coach Experience or more
  • Experience working with children is preferable but not required
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of tennis
  • Be able to pass a CORI test
  • CPR validation or willing to train
